Car Insurance Breakdown Cover
A breakdown always happens when you least expect it - and when it's most inconvenient. So we make sure we offer a breakdown service that responds quickly and efficiently no matter where you are, or where you're going: to work, on holiday, during the day or at night.
Choose from two types of cover - Kwik Assist Roadside & Kwik Assist Recovery. They both offer cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year4 with a network of over 5000 trained mechanics whose average response time is just 40 minutes from call out. You can also decide for yourself whether you would like to cover yourself or your vehicle.

The information in the above table is a summary only. Please see the significant exclusions below:
Exclusions for both levels of cover:
- Labour charges over 1 hour at the roadside
- More than 6 callouts per year
- The costs of any parts or materials used to repair your vehicle
- The cost of any replacement fuel supplied if your vehicle runs out
- If your vehicle breaks down within 24 hours of buying this policy
- If your vehicle was not in a roadworthy condition at the start of the policy, or if your vehicle has not been maintained as per the manufacturer's recommendations
- If you choose to cover yourself rather than the vehicle, this is only available if you are with the car at the time of the breakdown and when help arrives
Exclusion for Kwik Assist Roadside only:
- Callouts within 1 mile of your home address

3. With comprehensive cover only, your policy covers you to claim £20 per day for up to 5 days for hire car costs following the theft of your vehicle.
4. No cover is provided within the first 24 hours of buying breakdown cover.
