Skoda Octavia: An award-winner for families

Skoda's award-winning Octavia could be an ideal choice for families looking for a well-built, spacious family car that will not stretch the pocket too far.

Long gone are the days when Skoda was the butt of many a joke in motoring circles, as the Volkswagen Group's emphasis on quality is plainly apparent in the construction of the Skoda Octavia – after all, it is based on the fifth generation Volkswagen Golf.

Indeed, the quality of build is now such that What Car? Magazine saw fit to award the Octavia as Best Small Family Car of 2005 and 2006.
