Vauxhall Corsa – 'Safety as standard'

The Vauxhall Corsa is a user-friendly model with a changeable interior which reflects the car's youthful image, a reviewer has claimed.

With its appealing interior design and adjustable steering, the vehicle comfortably houses four adults inside its airy cabin, Parker's states.

Across the range of models in the vehicle line-up, all but the base 1.0-litre Expression car are fitted with an air conditioning system, while electrically-adjustable door mirrors are standard across the whole range.

In addition, all models feature a CD player, front airbags and central locking, with options towards the top of the range boasting additional equipment such as rain-sensing windscreen wipers and alloy wheels.

The petrol engines on offer tend to struggle but their diesel counterparts do not incur the same problem as a result of increased pulling power, the reviewer states.

Despite the unimpressive range of petrol engines, the models handle confidently and offer excellent grip, but the steering needs tweaking to be more responsive.

The car scored superbly in Euro NCAP safety trials and reasonably well in relation to pedestrian protection.

Vauxhall's Corsa is available from £7,496 in car insurance groups one to six.
