Volvo S40 - 'Classy, quality ride'

The Volvo S40 is a quality, attractive vehicle highlighting how the car maker has improved its build standards, a reviewer believes.

According to Top Gear, the model has an impressive appearance even at a distance, being shorter yet wider than its predecessor.

The car has a sleek shape and "superb" proportions, while the interior appears both classy and roomy, housing four adults comfortably.

Engines range from the 1.8-litre petrol option to a 2.5-litre turbo with five cylinders and the car can cope well with motorway driving, being a contender against other vehicles within its class like the Audi A4.

Despite its impressiveness, the car is well-priced, stylish and has a quality feel, with its main drawback being the drive itself, which is not as fun as that offered by some competitors.

While providing a good ride, the handling can, however, be unresponsive, the reviewer suggests.

Volvo's S40 is available from £14,600 in various car insurance groups from number seven upwards.

Kwik-Fit Insurance provides car insurance customers with a discount of at least 15% when you get a quote online.
