Motorists could risk a car insurance claim by ignoring no entry signsSome drivers in Peterborough may be risking a claim on their car insurance by failing to take note of no entry signs.
According to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, roadworks along Oundle Road in Woodston are causing motorists to become impatient and try to bypass the congestion by driving down streets marked as being no entry.
Not only could this mean that drivers are potentially jeopardising their car insurance premiums, but police are warning that they could also end up with a £60 fine and three penalty points on their licence.
"Officers have been made aware of the problems where motorists have been driving through a no entry sign and the wrong way down a one way street," a spokesman told the publication.
"Driving in this manner places the driver and other motorists in danger of a head on collision."
Motorists in Northamptonshire may also have risked their Car insurance premiums recently after police stated that some drivers had been travelling through pedestrianised areas.
