Women's car insurance 'at risk during parking'Female drivers may be risking their women's car insurance premiums when parking as a survey shows that parking rage affects almost 60 per cent of the population.
The study by Direct Line found that nine per cent of drivers have deliberately hit another car to discourage the owner from parking in a space they would rather keep for themselves.
Vanessa Sims, a teacher from Swindon told the Swindon Advertiser that she struggled to find a parking space by her home and once returned to her car to find it damaged and no car insurance details had been left by the offender.
Emma Holyer, of Direct Line, said: "Parking is a major issue for today's motorists. We are all fed up of paying excessive charges for parking in town or at work and then coming home to find we can't park anywhere near home.
"Local authorities seem quick to fine anyone who has parked illegally in town but when it comes to residential areas they are unaware of the problems motorists face."
Feelings of annoyance experienced by parking has been dubbed parking rage by the RAC Foundation, following the findings that ten million Britons are irritated by people trying to park in their spaces and more than half a million saying it would cause them to take action.
