Kwik-Fit Insurance has kindly donated £1,000 to Redburn School in Cumbernauld. The cash will go towards a much needed hydrotherapy pool which will help many of the school’s pupils and increase their quality of living.
Marie Stewart, Head of the Charities Committee at Kwik-Fit Insurance said: “I am delighted we have been able to help Redburn School and get them a big step closer towards getting their hydrotherapy pool.
“We support a range of charities throughout the year outwith our Charity of the Year and are committed to continuing with our support within the local community. We wish Redburn School and all its pupils all the best for the future.”
Tom Cooper, who attended the school to present them with their cheque was overwhelmed by the gratitude and atmosphere, he said: “I am thrilled to be part of a company that can offer so many organisations a bit of help.”
“Visiting the school was certainly worthwhile. The kids are full of life and potential and it is really inspiring to come into an environment such as this. There will also be some volunteering opportunities for our staff to get involved in the future – something I will look forward to.”
John Lochrie, Head teacher at Redburn School added: “I would like to thank Kwik-Fit Insurance for such a generous donation. Our hydrotherapy pool is essential for the development of many of our pupils.”
“We already have sensory areas throughout the school but the pool would definitely be a favourite and hopefully the children will be able to enjoy a greater experience.”
“North Lanarkshire council has pledged to give us half of the cost towards the pool but we do depend on fundraising and support from local businesses and organisations to help us move forward – if the generosity continues it certainly won’t be long before our hydrotherapy pool is in place.”
